Show Rules & Requirements

 
  • Animals may begin to arrive after 8:00 a.m. All Animals must be entered in the show between 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. if you show on Friday and 8:00 a.m. -10:30 a.m. if you show on Saturday.
  • Proof of age by registration papers required.
  • Classes will be provided for all breeds with at least 10 head of cattle. In order to have a breed show, there must be at least two (2) different families and two (2) exhibitors. (parents & children are considered as one family.) The general livestock superintendent's decision will be final!
  • The Open Heifer Show & Junior Heifer Show will be conducted simultaneously. Awards for both Open & Junior placing will be awarded.
  • Health rules are as follows: All cattle shall be accompanied by Certificate of Veterinary inspection recording evidence of a negative test for Brucellosis within 90 days. The negative test requirement shall not apply to:                                                           a) Cattle less than 18 months of age (both vaccinates & non-vaccinates.)                                                                                        b) Steers & spayed heifers                                                               c) Cattle from Certified Brucellosis-Free herds.
  • All animals entered at owners risk! Coffee County Fair Association will not be responsible for accidents.
  • Bedding will be furnished for in-barn use. Please do not bed with straw.
  • Animals may be removed from the Fairgrounds immediately following the show.
  • Entry fee of $3.00 per head required for Open Show entries.
  • Nose leads required for bulls over 1 year old.
  • Junior show exhibitors must be 19 yrs. old or younger. Adults may assist very exhibitors if required. Junior show entries must be registered in a junior's name and shown by a junior exhibitor.
  • All animals brought to grounds must be unloaded and exhibited.
  • No unethical practices for show preparation.

Junior Dairy Cattle Show Rules & Requirements
Judging Thursday September 6th

Entries are open to the world unless otherwise specified. Entries must arrive at the Fairgrounds between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7. Animals may be removed from the Fairgrounds immediately following the shows. All animals showing in the Junior Show muststay except the lactating cows. Bedding will be furnished. Please do not bed with straw. Exhibitors must be able to control and show their animals.All animals entered at owner's risk! Coffee County Fair Association will not be responsible for accidents. Separate classes for all breeds of dairycattle (Jersey, Holstein, Guernsey, Brown Swiss, Ayrshire). All animals must have registration or qualified herd book certification papers to be eligible to show. All animals must be unloaded and exhibited.  

There will be a $3 per head entry fee. The proceeds of this entry fee will be donated to the Brian Young Scholarship Fund. Exhibitors must be 18 years of age or under. Animal must be registered by July 1 of current year. Animals do not have to be registered in the junior's name. Juniors Classes 1-4 for Coffee County Residents Only.

Open show for Coffee and adjoining counties. $1 per entry (animal). Entries to be made Saturday, September 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or Sunday,September 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No Late Entries Will Be Accepted. Birds Will Be Tested Day Of Entry. Please pick up your entry numbersfrom the fair office before entering the animals. This is a one-week fair and all animals will remain until Sunday, September 11. Pickup on Sunday willbe from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No entries will leave the fairgrounds before this time. No Exceptions! All entries must belong to the exhibitor and mustbe entered by that person. All animals must be free of disease, colds and parasites. All animals will meet the requirements set by the TN Dept. ofAgriculture. The superintendents have the right to remove any animal not meeting these requirements. Owner must remove the animal from the fairgrounds immediately.
